Community

Marshall Square Resource Network
Founded in 2010 by Latinos Progresando, the Marshall Square Resource Network is a place-based coalition of more than 60 community organizations, schools, small businesses and neighborhood residents that collaborate on shared solutions in health, education, peace and community response.
La Cermak Corridor
The Cermak commercial corridor is the heartbeat of Marshall Square. We partner with the many family-owned businesses to meet the needs of community residents and organizations, while also driving business to the neighborhood. LP provides marketing and technical assistance, shares funding opportunities and supports safety and walkability.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Supported by a dedicated group of community parents–Madres Líderes–LP implements a train-the-trainer style curriculum to introduce and develop social emotional and leadership skills for parents at four neighborhood elementary schools. Since its inception, more than 700 people have completed the program.
Community-Led Development
LP collaborates with community residents, businesses and organizational partners to make neighborhood improvements that support well-being and provide opportunity. This takes the form of building new green spaces, planting street trees, making investments in the built environment, and supporting local ownership.

Foundational Needs
We support our neighbors with basic needs to make life just a little easier–food and household items through a partnership with Nourishing Hope, connections to free resources, coats and hats in the winter, emergency financial assistance, and even holiday gifts.
