MSRN Organization Of The Month: Sinai Chicago

1. What is the name of your organization, and where is it located?

Sinai Chicago. Multiple locations in the west and southwest of Chicago. Main location: Mount Sinai Hospital at 1500 S Fairfield Ave (Ogden Ave. and California Ave.)

2. Could you provide a brief overview of your organization and its mission?

For more than 100 years, Sinai Chicago has been committed to improving population health outcomes across Chicago’s West and Southwest Sides. Our mission is to expand access to high-quality healthcare and address contributing factors that impact wellness in our communities. We are a safety net system that delivers exceptional care and measurable results—because everyone deserves healthcare excellence. We aim to improve the health of the individuals and communities we serve, regardless of their ability to pay.

3. What services does your organization offer? 

Healthcare specialty at three hospitals (Mount Sinai, Holy Cross and Schwab Rehabilitation), primary care at 12 community clinics, social services at Sinai Community Institute, and clinical research by Sinai Urban Health Institute, among other services.

4. How did you learn about the Marshall Square Resource Network, and what motivated you to get involved?

Sinai Chicago has been a member of the MSRN almost since its creation, about 15 years ago. Our affiliation to the Network was a natural step due to our location in the Marshall Square/Little Village area, and as a healthcare system recognized by our community approach. We value the opportunity to connect and create partnerships with more than 50+ members of the coalition, and the leadership of the lead agency, Latinos Progresando.
